Saturday morning thoughts

Africa through the western prism is nothing but poverty, war, chaos. Even you as an African or African-American unless born and raised there, end up thinking it’s the sole truth.
I want our people especially in the travel industry to show the other side of our continent. Africa is not only a giant Safari or a place full of starving children , but a rich continent with beautiful and unique life perspectives to discover.

We must learn about our history, culture and embrace it. How can we go far and face adversity if we don’t even know who we are?

“Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.”

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Therefore we must tell our own story! Our truth not for the western world to acknowledge us but for our people, our brothers, and sisters, for our healing.
